Brick repair in Las Vegas starts with the mortar joints and the brick faces. Ram Masonry repoints worn mortar in brick and stone, and we cut out and replace cracked or spalled brick. We also fix brick columns, mailboxes, planters, low brick walls and loose brick or stone veneer. We work across Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Spring Valley, Summerlin and the rest of Clark County. New brick is covered under brick work. We hold Nevada C-18 masonry license number 0080771, bonded and insured, and have worked this valley since 2014.
Most calls start with something you can see from the driveway. The mortar between the bricks has gone soft and sandy, or a brick face is flaking off. A car may have clipped a driveway column or the mailbox. Or a white crust keeps coming back on the wall. Call (702) 769-4416 and we set a time to look at the masonry in person. We look for the cause first, such as water getting in or a wall that has moved. Then you get a free written estimate that spells out the repair.

Brick and masonry repair fixes brick and stone that is already standing. We repoint worn or cracked mortar joints, and we replace cracked or spalled bricks with ones chosen to match. Loose, cracked or missing pieces of brick veneer get replaced, and loose stone veneer is reset on sound backing. Brick columns, pilasters, mailboxes, planters and low brick walls are part of this work.
Block is a different job. Cracked, leaning or car-hit block walls and retaining walls belong to block wall repair. A new brick face on a house is new brick veneer, and a new stone face is stone veneer work. Refacing a fireplace inside the house is fireplace remodeling. On a BBQ island or an outdoor fireplace, our repair covers the brick or stone masonry only.
Repointing is the mortar repair the Brick Industry Association generally recommends. Old mortar comes out to a uniform depth of at least twice the joint width. That is generally 3/4 inch, or deeper until sound mortar is reached. Fresh mortar goes in, and the joints are tooled to match the old profile. Brick that is broken or heavily spalled lets moisture through, and replacing those bricks may be necessary.
The Brick Industry Association says repointing mortar must be equal to or lower in compressive strength than the original. A stronger mortar concentrates stress where brick meets mortar and can spall the brick face. The association generally recommends Type N for modern work. For older and historic brick, the National Park Service brief on repointing agrees. New mortar must be softer than the brick and more vapor permeable.
Sprinkler spray that hits brick or stone dries right on the face. Valley tap water is hard from calcium and magnesium, the Las Vegas Valley Water District says. Mineral residue forms where that water is allowed to evaporate. White deposits from inside the wall are efflorescence, salts left behind as moisture evaporates. The Brick Industry Association says to fix where water gets in before cleaning, or the efflorescence will return.
For cleaning, we start with the gentlest method, a stiff fiber brush and water. Harsh cleaning can stain brick and etch the mortar joints. Car strikes are the sudden damage, since driveway columns and brick mailboxes sit where a bumper can reach them. Settlement is slower. Clark County publishes soils maps of near-surface soil trends in the valley, including an Expansive Soils Guidelines Map.
Some cracks are cosmetic and some are structural. The Brick Industry Association lists examples of structural signs. They include cracks in brick masonry wider than 0.075 inch (2 mm) and cracks through several bricks. Cracks in a stepped or diagonal pattern are on the list, along with widespread spalled brick. So are rust built up on lintels and a wall that bulges or leans out of plane.
Those signs generally call for an investigation by a professional engineer, the association says. The engineer finds the cause and recommends the repair method, and we repair the masonry to that plan. Smaller damage stays a masonry job. One national cost guide notes that hairline cracks on a few bricks are typically cosmetic. Those usually get new mortar in the joints or a few replacement bricks.
In unincorporated Clark County, repairing less than 32 square feet of stone or brick veneer needs no building permit. The damage must be less than 6 feet above grade. That covers Paradise, Spring Valley, Enterprise and the other unincorporated towns. The City of Las Vegas calls for a permit when work opens up interior or exterior walls. Henderson, North Las Vegas and Boulder City run their own permit desks. We check the rule for your parcel first.
Published cost guides put typical brick repair at $500 to $2,500 and repointing at $3 to $20 per square foot. One lists brick mailbox repair at $150 to $300 for minor repairs, or up to $750 for a leaning mailbox. Our brick repair cost guide has the full ranges. For insurance repairs, we price the masonry from the adjuster's scope or the claim photos, itemized and in writing. The claim itself stays between you and your insurer.

Call or send the form, and photos by text get a fast first read. For a firm number we come out, measure the run, and check what sits under the job: grade, access, caliche, old work.
You get a written price and timeline before any work starts. If a permit or engineering applies, the estimate says so. Repair and rebuild get quoted as separate numbers when both are on the table.
Footings dug to bearing and inspected, rebar and grout in the cells, base compacted before concrete, mortar kept from drying too fast in the heat. The parts you never see get built like the parts you do.
We walk the finished work with you: walls plumb, joints full, slabs draining the right way, site cleaned up. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.
