Outdoor Kitchens and BBQ Islands in Las Vegas, NV

Outdoor Kitchens · Las Vegas, NV

Masonry Islands Built for Las Vegas Backyards

We build outdoor kitchens and BBQ islands across Las Vegas, from Summerlin and Henderson out to Boulder City. Ours are masonry, so the core is concrete block on a footing instead of a bolt-together steel frame. That core carries the veneer and the counter, with openings framed for the grill and doors. Our own jobs include stone islands with built-in grills, outdoor kitchens with bar seating, brick fireplaces, and pizza ovens. Ram Masonry LLC has worked this trade since 2014, and estimates are free anywhere in the valley. Call (702) 769-4416 and tell us what you cook on.

Most calls start the same way. There is a bare slab or a paver patio, and a grill on a cart. You want a real place to cook, plus a counter people can sit at. We look at the patio and at where gas and power already run. Then we lay out an island that fits the space and the way you cook. Sun and shade shape the layout as much as the appliance list does. A west-facing counter in July goes unused, so we plan seating around the afternoon sun.

How a Custom BBQ Island Gets Built

Every island starts with what it sits on, because block and stone get heavy fast. We check the slab or paver patio first, then chalk the footprint and set the base course. The core goes up in concrete block, cut and reinforced, with openings framed for the grill and doors. Nothing about that core rusts or warps, and it does not care how hot July gets.

Once the core is up, we check the appliance openings against the real specs. Every grill brand has its own cutout size, so we build to the model you bought. Veneer comes next, in stacked stone or stucco, matched to the house. The counter goes on last, usually granite, cut with the overhang your bar stools need.

A full outdoor kitchen is the same build, just longer. Add a bar return with seating, plus counter space for a fridge and a side burner. We frame stone TV walls into the layout too, and leave clean space for patio heaters. Gas and electric runs get coordinated with licensed trades, and we build so their lines land right.

Outdoor Fireplaces, Fire Pits and Pizza Ovens

The grill season here never really ends, so a fireplace earns its keep through winter. We build outdoor fireplaces in brick and in stucco, with the firebox laid in firebrick. A wood-burning fireplace needs a proper throat and flue, or it pushes smoke back at you. For a gas fireplace we build the same masonry shell, and a licensed trade makes the connection.

Fire pits are the simpler version, and they still anchor a patio. We build them round or square, in block and veneer, sized for wood or a gas insert. Pizza ovens are their own build, with a masonry dome over a hearth and a chimney that drafts. We have set them on paver patios beside the island, so the whole meal happens outside.

Masonry Built Islands Compared to Prefab Kits

Prefab island kits arrive on a pallet and bolt together in a day. They cost less at the start, and Las Vegas sun is hard on them. Metal frames and stainless panels get searing hot on a west-facing patio in summer. Kit pricing also leaves out the counter and the utility work, so the gap narrows.

A masonry island is block and mortar under stone, so heat and UV do not bother it. It also gets built to your patio instead of to a catalog size. Odd angles and bar returns are layout work here, not a special order part. The tradeoff is time, because footing, block, veneer and grout each need their own day.

What Drives the Cost

We price each island off the layout, not off a square foot rule. Size sets the block and the counter, and the appliance list sets most of the rest. A single grill island with a granite top usually lands in the low thousands. A full outdoor kitchen with several appliances and a fireplace runs into five figures.

The appliance list moves the number most, because every grill, fridge or sink needs its own opening and power. Veneer is next, and stacked stone takes longer to set than stucco. Counters follow, since granite pricing swings with the slab you pick. Utility work sits on its own line, and the licensed trade doing it sets that price.

How We Work

How a Job With Ram Masonry Runs

From the first look at the site to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

Look at the Job

Call or send the form, and photos by text get a fast first read. For a firm number we come out, measure the run, and check what sits under the job: grade, access, caliche, old work.

2

Price in Writing

You get a written price and timeline before any work starts. If a permit or engineering applies, the estimate says so. Repair and rebuild get quoted as separate numbers when both are on the table.

3

Build It Right

Footings dug to bearing and inspected, rebar and grout in the cells, base compacted before concrete, mortar kept from drying too fast in the heat. The parts you never see get built like the parts you do.

4

Walk It Together

We walk the finished work with you: walls plumb, joints full, slabs draining the right way, site cleaned up. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.

How much does a custom BBQ island cost in Las Vegas?
It depends on size, veneer, counter material, and the appliances you want built in. A single grill masonry island with a granite top usually sits in the low thousands. Full outdoor kitchens with several appliances and a fireplace run higher. We price yours off the layout and give the estimate free.
Can you build around the grill I already have?
Yes. Bring us the model or the cutout sheet, and we frame the opening to it. That works for grills, doors, drawers, side burners and fridges. If you have not bought yet, pick the appliances before we lay block. The openings get framed during the build, not cut after.
Do you run the gas line for the grill or fire pit?
No. Gas and electric work goes to licensed trades, and we coordinate so the runs land where the island needs them. We build the masonry and set the stub location for them. That work usually needs its own permit, which the licensed trade handles.
How long does an outdoor kitchen take to build?
Most single BBQ islands are a matter of days, once the layout is set and the materials are on site. A larger outdoor kitchen with a fireplace or pizza oven takes longer. Mortar and grout each need their own day, and counters get templated after the core is up.
Will a masonry island hold up in Las Vegas heat?
Block and mortar do not warp or rust in desert sun. Granite and stone veneer handle the UV fine. The real question is shade, because a counter in full west sun goes unused in July. We plan the layout around that, and leave room for a cover or patio heaters.

Why Choose Ram

Why Las Vegas Calls Ram Masonry

Masonry Is the Trade

Block, brick, stone and concrete are the whole business, not a sideline. Footings dug to bearing, cells grouted around steel, joints struck full. That is why the walls we build stay straight.

Built for the Desert

Vegas heat and monsoon wind punish shortcuts. Early summer pours, mortar kept from drying too fast, drainage behind every retaining wall, footings cut through caliche instead of stopping on it.

Priced in Writing, Free

Junior looks at the job, measures it, and puts the price and timeline in writing before work starts. Photos by text get a fast first read. The estimate costs nothing either way.

Licensed, Bonded, Insured

Nevada C-18 masonry license #0080771, bond and insurance on file. The license is what lets us pull your wall permit, and it covers commercial work at the same standard as residential.
