Block Wall Repair in Las Vegas, NV

Block Wall Repair · Las Vegas, NV

Block wall repair across the Las Vegas valley

Block wall repair in Las Vegas starts with cracked block, a leaning run or a wall a car hit. We do block wall repair on cinder block wall runs, garden walls, pool walls and commercial CMU. We also handle brick repair, stone veneer repair, repointing and retaining wall repair. We have worked this valley since 2014 and hold a Nevada C-18 masonry license number 0080771, bonded and insured. Most block wall repair here is a section job, and the sound part of the wall stays.

Most calls start with a photo. A wall leans toward the yard, or a stair step crack climbs from a gate post. Sometimes a driver takes out ten feet of block overnight. Call (702) 769-4416 or text photos of the wall, and we give a first read the same day. Then we come out, look at the footing and the block, and write a free estimate. We take these calls across the whole valley, including the masonry work we do in Spring Valley.

Why Block Walls Fail in Las Vegas

Cars are the most common reason we get called for block wall repair. Corner lots and alley walls take the hit, and one strike drops several feet of block. Wind is next. The National Weather Service clocked gusts above 60 mph in the valley on July 1, 2025. A long wall catches monsoon wind like a sail, and weak grout gives first.

Under the wall, the ground moves. Clark County publishes an Expansive Soil Guidelines Map because near surface soils swell and shrink with water. Caliche sits in the ground erratically in thickness and hardness, so a footing partly on caliche settles unevenly. Irrigation, pool splash and tree roots do the rest. We take block wall repair calls valley wide, including our block wall calls up in North Las Vegas.

Do We Repair the Wall or Rebuild the Section?

The footing decides whether block wall repair or a rebuild is the answer. If the footing is sound and only the block above it is cracked, we repair that section. If the wall leans because the footing moved or sits on soft fill, that run gets rebuilt. A new footing goes in first, then the block. We check plumb, read the crack pattern, and dig at the base.

A section rebuild runs the same order. We cut damaged block back to a clean vertical break, then tie rebar into the sound wall. New block goes up on the footing, the cells get grouted solid, and the cap is reset. New block reads lighter at first, then weathers toward the old color. See how a new wall gets footed, reinforced and grouted.

Brick Repair, Stone Veneer Repair and Repointing

Brick repair splits into two jobs. A solid brick wall or column carries load, so damaged brick gets cut out and replaced. Brick over block is a face, and that repair stays in the veneer. Spalled faces, cracked lintels and settlement cracks get read before we price the work. For new brick and matching detail, see brick selection and matching old brick.

Repointing is mortar work. We cut failed joints out to sound mortar, then repack them to match the color and joint profile. Published cost guides put repointing brick at $3 to $20 per square foot. Stone veneer repair is a reset, where loose stone comes off and goes back on sound backing. See how stone veneer gets set over a block backing for new work.

Can a Leaning Retaining Wall Be Saved?

Often it can. Retaining wall repair starts with why the wall moved. We check drainage, sight the lean along the run, and dig to see the footing. A wall holding wet soil with nowhere to drain is a water problem first. Published guides put retaining wall repair at $100 to $1,500, and a leaning wall at $200 to $1,500.

A drainage retrofit is the common fix. Weep holes, gravel backfill and a drain line behind the wall take pressure off the block. Cost guides put added drainage at $50 to $80 per square foot. Planter walls fail smaller, where steady irrigation crumbles the joints and pops the face off. See how engineered block and planter walls get designed and drained for new builds.

Permits, Shared Walls and Insurance Repairs

Clark County exempts repair of block walls 6 feet or less when the repair runs 20 linear feet or less. Larger work needs a fence permit. The City of Las Vegas requires a permit for a block wall more than 2 feet high. Retaining walls over 24 inches need a sealed grading plan. We check the rule for your parcel before work starts.

Shared walls need a conversation first. Nevada does not regulate boundary fences between homes the way some states do. Cost sharing comes from your CC&Rs, your HOA and what you and the neighbor agree to. Clark County requires a notarized property line authorization form when a wall sits on the line. Our estimate is itemized, so both parties see the same numbers.

We also do insurance repairs. When a car takes out a wall, we quote to the adjuster's scope or the claim photos. The estimate comes back itemized and written, so it lines up against the claim. We do not handle the claim itself. Send the claim number and we price the rebuild.

How We Work

How a Job With Ram Masonry Runs

From the first look at the site to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

Look at the Job

Call or send the form, and photos by text get a fast first read. For a firm number we come out, measure the run, and check what sits under the job: grade, access, caliche, old work.

2

Price in Writing

You get a written price and timeline before any work starts. If a permit or engineering applies, the estimate says so. Repair and rebuild get quoted as separate numbers when both are on the table.

3

Build It Right

Footings dug to bearing and inspected, rebar and grout in the cells, base compacted before concrete, mortar kept from drying too fast in the heat. The parts you never see get built like the parts you do.

4

Walk It Together

We walk the finished work with you: walls plumb, joints full, slabs draining the right way, site cleaned up. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.

How much does it cost to repair a block wall?
Published cost guides put most masonry repairs in the hundreds to the low thousands. A rebuilt section prices close to new block, which those guides list at $60 to $240 per linear foot installed. Retaining wall repair runs $100 to $1,500 and repointing brick $3 to $20 per square foot. Your number tracks run length, footing condition and access. See what a six foot wall costs by the linear foot here.
Can a block wall be repaired?
Yes, most of the time. A cracked section gets cut back to a clean vertical break. New block then ties into the sound wall with rebar. Any masonry repair holds when the footing under it is still good. A wall leaning on a failed footing gets rebuilt instead.
Do I need a permit to repair a block wall in Las Vegas?
It depends on the size of the repair. Clark County exempts repair of block walls 6 feet or less when the repair runs 20 linear feet or less. The City of Las Vegas requires a permit for a block wall more than 2 feet high. We check your parcel first. The permit rules for repairs and rebuilds are laid out in our guide.
Who pays to repair a block wall shared with a neighbor?
That comes from your CC&Rs, your HOA and what you and the neighbor agree to. Nevada does not regulate boundary fences between homes the way some states do. Clark County requires a notarized property line authorization form when the wall sits on the line.
Will insurance pay for a block wall a car hit?
Coverage sits between you and the carrier, so start with them. We quote to the adjuster's scope or to the claim photos. The estimate comes back itemized and written for the claim. We do not handle the claim itself.
How can I repair cracks in my brick wall?
Small mortar cracks are a repointing job. The failed joints get cut out to sound mortar, then repacked to match the color and profile. Cracked brick faces get cut out and replaced. A diagonal crack through several courses points at the footing.

Why Choose Ram

Why Las Vegas Calls Ram Masonry

Masonry Is the Trade

Block, brick, stone and concrete are the whole business, not a sideline. Footings dug to bearing, cells grouted around steel, joints struck full. That is why the walls we build stay straight.

Built for the Desert

Vegas heat and monsoon wind punish shortcuts. Early summer pours, mortar kept from drying too fast, drainage behind every retaining wall, footings cut through caliche instead of stopping on it.

Priced in Writing, Free

We look at the job, measure it, and put the price and timeline in writing before work starts. Photos by text get a fast first read. The estimate costs nothing either way.

Licensed, Bonded, Insured

Nevada C-18 masonry license #0080771, bond and insurance on file. The license is what lets us pull your wall permit, and it covers commercial work at the same standard as residential.
